The object of Harry's obsession is Michel (Laurent Lucas) a typical family man with a wife Claire (Mathilde Seigner), and three young daughters, Jeanne (Victoire de Koster), Sarah (Laurie Caminata), and Iris (Lorena Caminata). While they are traveling on vacation during a heat wave in a car with no air conditioning Michel's exasperatingly restless children force him to pull into a rest stop. He enters a restroom and splashes cold water on his face before noticing a stranger staring at him. The man Harry reveals that the two attended school together but Michel doesn't remember. Even so Harry extends an invitation for himself and his fiancee Plum (Sophie Guillemin) to Michel's summer home. There Harry reveals his admiration for Michel's long-dormant writing aptitude but secretly loathes Claire for stunting her husband's artistic growth.

As the family prepares to continue their trip Harry drives up in his
Mercedes and asks Michel if he and the family would like to get together for dinner. Michel declines at first, but soon after receiving the okay from his wife Claire (Mathilde Seigner) invites Harry and his girlfriend Plum (Sophie Guillemin) up to their summer home for drinks.
As they sit at the table, Harry asks Michel if he still writes. Seems that
when they were in school Michel wrote for the literary magazine, and one of his poems made quite an impact on Harry.

Unsolicited, Harry begins offering and doing financial favors for Michel and his family. Harry is admittedly helpful, Michel and Claire's old car has no air conditioning, and Harry presents them with a brand new, bright red SUV. No obligation. Actually, Harry begins to do a lot of things for Michel’s entire family. He even inspires Michel to write again. Unfortunately, there seems to be some costs associated with having a friend like Harry. What are these costs? Well you will have to see the whole movie to find out.

This is an effective thriller that should keep you on the edge of your seat. I recommend you should give it a try.
