Wishmaster 3: Beyond The Gates Of Hell
Movie: A Sound: A Picture: A Reviewed By: David Artisan presents "Wishmaster 3: Beyond The Gates Of Hell " Directed by Chris Angel. Horror goes to extremes with Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell, the goriest installment of the hit franchise yet. The gut-slinging demon uses fiendish trickery to take the form of a professor in order to slice, dice and burn his way through the university staff and its students. The evil Djinn is back! An unsuspecting coed named Diana unwittingly releases the sinister genie from his mystical tomb. Now he's on a bloody rampage through the university trying to get three unsuspecting victims to request three evil, deadly wishes that will open up the gates of Hell. With help from the man she loves she must impale the bloodthirsty demon with a sword from Heaven to save herself and the entire world from the eternal wrath of Hell. Just like the first two movies, the Djinn's makeup is convincing and creepy, though this time it seems as if the money ran out after the Djinn make-up was purchased. The rest of the effects look cheap, a vast difference from the sprawling look of the first movie. With the creativity drained from the script and effects. Jason Connery as the human incarnation of the Djinn is ok, but Connery does not show any signs of replacing his dad no time soon. A.J. Cook as heroine Diana is ok, but her acting doesn't stand out as anything unique in my opnion. She's cute and cuddly and that's about all I think. Everyone else is young, good looking. Wishmaster 3 is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, and at least the disc includes a decent transfer of the film. Wishmaster 3 carries a solid image with clear colors and dark black levels. Edge enhancement is kept to a minimum with only the slightest amount of digital artifacting present. Audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround in English (with optional Spanish subtitles). As it stands now this soundtrack gets the job done pretty good, though it's hardly impressive or very aggressive. All aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are clear of any distortion or hiss. Wishmaster
3 will please it's core audience of horror fans hungry
for the familiar plots of evil monsters and constant gore.
I
enjoyed the Wishmaster movies on a good level,
but this sequel has no comparison. The first big drawback
is that the actor who played the evil Djinn in the previous
two films, Andrew Divoff is not in this movie. Enjoy! I would recommend you should rent this movie first and then buy if you want to. Click here to buy this movie in our store. Edition Details:
